What is RSS?

RSS is a notification system used to alert subscribers to changes made to their favorite web sites, blogs, emails, etc. An RSS feed is a text-based headline with a link and usually a short summary, that is sent to you as soon as it is published on the web site / service you subscribe to. If you’re interested in being notified of when you have new email in your inbox (as in our case) then just click on the RSS feed link and you will be directed to the email content, simply and efficiently. Think of an RSS feed as checking for updates to your emails, web sites, etc and notifying you instead of you checking on it.

How Do I Read the Feed?

You may have noticed that when you try to click the RSS link, you just get a squirrelly looking page of code. That is so because RSS is written in XML (Extensible Markup Language), similar to html which means we need an RSS feed reader to make it work and get the RSS feed to notify us of emails, website changes, etc. You must either download the reader and load the xml file into the reader or if you already have a reader then just load the file by copying the text which you can see when you click on RSS to your reader. It is really simple and you can do it in a few minutes.
